Frequently asked questions.
How to Order?
What film do I have?
Knowing what type of film you have is the first step! While there are many different kinds of film out there, we currently only process C41 color negative film. This is the most common type of film you'll find, often labeled as "color print film" or "color negative film" from brands like Kodak, Fujifilm, or Lomography. If you're unsure, you can usually find "C41" or "CN-16" printed on the film canister or the box itself. If your film says something else, like "slide film" (E6) or "black and white," we can't process it for you just yet.
Which service do I choose?
-
If you've already had your film developed elsewhere and just need the digital files, this is the perfect choice. You'll get high-quality scans delivered straight to your inbox.
-
Do you prefer to handle your own scanning, or do you have a darkroom at home? Choose this option, and we'll expertly develop your C41 film and send the negatives back to you.
-
This is our most popular option for a complete, hassle-free experience! We'll take care of both developing your film and providing you with beautiful digital scans, so your images are ready to share or print.
How to Send Your Film?
We currently only offer a local drop-off service and cannot accept any orders sent by post. Our secure postbox is located inside the New House Art Space in Guildford and is checked regularly.
How to find the postbox:
Enter the New House Art Space. You’ll be greeted by the lovely staff at Frida’s Coffee Shop!
Head straight through the door in front of you into the stairwell.
You will see our postbox situated on the windowsill.
What should I do if I arrive without placing an order first?
No problem! We have a QR code next to the postbox. Simply scan it with your phone to go to our website and place your order.
Once you're done, don't forget to grab a coffee from Frida's on your way out!
